My whole career started thanks to Gifs.  After graduating from my BA in animation course at Uni, My first ever job was to animate a gif logo. I then spent hours and hours animating little gif loops and became an, award winning, proud member of the Animated GIF Artists Guild. There I was head hunted by the fantastic Camilla Erickson and started making animated eCards for Care2.com. That led to directing and coding in flash then animating power points for BT then explainer videos then after effects then ads and games and films and everything in between :)
